Classes and Groups

The classes and groups run by our nurses are a great way to get involved with your pets health. They ensure that you can meet the needs of your pet. This results in a happier, healthy pet and a much less stressed owner. They can also be lots of fun!

Puppy classes
These classes enable your pet to mix with other puppies at an early age. This gets them used to other dogs and so can help in the future when taking them out for walks etc. There will also be a general discussion on healthcare. Topics that are normally discussed are socialisation, flea and worm advice, micro-chipping, neutering, diets and toileting. There is no set list of topics though and so any issues can be discussed.

Kitten classes
The kitten classes are very similar to the puppy classes. The same kind of topics will be discussed.

Weight clinics
The weight clinic was set up to help our overweight/obese pets. On your first visit you will be given a weight card to record your pet’s weight over a set period of time. They will be weighed on the day and if possible their waist measurement will also be taken and recorded. Our nurse will give you plenty of advice on the best diets and on what treats are allowed. Even the fussiest pet can lose weight on our diet! As you come back for regular weight checks you should see your pets waist measurement reduce.

7 up club
Any pet over the age of 7 is automatically eligible to join our 7 up club. We devised this club to enable our vets to keep a closer watch on pets over the age of 7 as they are more prone to illness. We offer a simple test to determine the health of your pet. If this test comes back clear, this will ease your peace of mind. However, if it doesn’t it means that we can look more closely at your pet’s health and begin to treat any problems early before they become too serious. Any pet joining this club receives a certificate as proof of membership!
