For many years I performed the out of hours service as well as work during the day as we got busier this became untenable. We now use a dedicated out of hours service based at the PDSA Huyton run by VetsNow. Their number is 01514802040 to be used outside normal surgery hours. Of the various emergency animal hospitals available, they are one of the best for animal emergencies.

It is quite an expensive service, another reason we recommend insurance, but the nurse and vet stay with your pet through the night. Advice over the phone is free of charge. They can be trusted when it comes to pet health problems and pet emergencies.
