About Us

Our practice was opened on 2nd October 1997 by David Grant OBE BVetMed CertSAD FRCVS director of Harmsworth Memorial Animal Hospital.

We are a small animal practice based in West Derby, Liverpool. We mainly see dogs and cats and smaller numbers of rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets and birds. Our special interest is dermatology. Anthony, our vet, has cases referred by other vets from all over N England and Wales

Or motto is “we love and care for your pet as if it were our own”. This describes the attitude of all the staff who work here perfectly.

It is important to us that all our clients trust us and understand that we care. We will do the best for you pets and truly treat them “as if they were our own”.

We have two full time experienced vets – Anthony and Anna as well as assistance from Eki when necessary. They will see your pet no matter what the problem – big or small. Also if your pet has a preference as to who they see, just state this. After all we are here to meet the needs of your pet. We believe in continuity of care. This means that you will get the same high level of service regardless of who you see.

Our 2 nurses are  Wendy and Emma, who are happy to give advice on feeding your pet, insurance, our very own VIP membership scheme and flea and worming treatments as well as other information concerning your pet. They are assisted by Amy, our vet nurse assistant.

We offer free consultations for a variety of things – new puppies/kittens (see the puppy and kitten section for more info), pre - neutering check ups and flea and worming check ups.

Linda and Joanne are our client care manager. They are usually your first contact with the practice when you ring or come into the practice. We operate an appointment system, rather than a walk in. This is to reduce the waiting time to see a vet. However, if you do find yourself waiting for one reason or another, we do offer tea and coffee free of charge so just ask!

We invite you to come down to have a look around our practice and see how different we are. Just call us and we can arrange a time.

The practice has many facilities but our main function is to care for those pets admitted to us. We do this through the dedication of our staff.

We will be moving to new premises in May so please look out for more details on this website. Mark it as a favourite
